Description:



The Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Section in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics in the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in First and Second Language Acquisition and Language Typology from 1 September 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.



The successful candidate will normally hold a PhD in Linguistics and will have a record of, or clear potential for, outstanding research.



Appointees will be expected to:


- engage in high-level research,


- seek opportunities to win external funding for that research,


- publish in their specialist field(s),


- teach and examine undergraduates,


- supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work,


- contribute to Section and Faculty administration.



The successful candidate will have, or be expected to develop, their own independent research portfolio of world-class research commensurate with the international reputation of the Theoretical & Applied Linguistics Section at the University of Cambridge.
